Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

WorshipWire ("we," "us," or "our") operates the WorshipWire mobile and web applications and related services (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Service. This Privacy Policy also serves as our notice at collection under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

1. Information We Collect

Sources of personal information. We collect personal information directly from you (when you create an account, complete your profile, post content, or sign up for a church) and automatically from your device (analytics, crash data, FCM push tokens, and approximate session metadata). We do not purchase personal information from data brokers.

Categories of third parties we disclose to. Our service providers (listed in section 3), Church administrators of the churches you join (for data related to your participation in their Church), and other Church members (for content you choose to share within a Church). We do not disclose personal information to any other third parties for their own commercial purposes.

Information from visitors and non-account holders. Some features of the Service collect information from people who do not have a WorshipWire account, including: (a) visitors who fill out QR-code visitor cards or similar opt-in forms a Church distributes and who consent to follow-up; (b) people who submit our public contact form on our website; and (c) information that account holders enter about other people (for example, family members listed in a household, emergency contacts, or people named in a prayer request). We use this information only for the purpose for which it was provided (helping the Church follow up, responding to the inquiry, or supporting the in-app feature). Non-account holders may exercise the privacy rights described in this Policy by contacting us at info@worshipwire.io.

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (managed through Firebase Authentication). You may optionally provide a phone number.

Profile information

You may provide a profile photo, bio, and username. This information is visible to other members of churches you belong to.

Church membership data

We store information about which churches you belong to, your role within each church (e.g., member, volunteer, admin), and related organizational data such as group memberships and ministry assignments.

Communication preferences

We collect your preferences for receiving communications, including email opt-in status, SMS opt-in status, and push notification settings.

Content you create

We store content you post or send through the Service, including posts, comments, prayer requests, chat messages, bulletin content, event information, and any other user-generated content.

Device information

We collect Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens for delivering push notifications and basic device-type information to optimize the Service for your device.

Usage data

We collect usage data through Firebase Analytics, including screen views, feature-usage patterns, and your last login timestamp. This helps us understand how the Service is used and how to improve it.

Crash and error data

We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error data to diagnose and fix technical issues. Crash reports are scrubbed of personally identifiable information before transmission.

Location (optional)

If you enable location services, we use your approximate or precise device location only to help you find nearby churches. Location is collected in the foreground only (never in the background) and is not stored on our servers beyond the moment it's used to compute distance.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Information Sharing

Church administrators

Church administrators can view member data for their church only, including directory information, membership status, roles, attendance records, and content posted within their church. Administrators cannot access data from other churches.

Platform administrators

The WorshipWire team (platform administrators) may access user data as needed for technical support, content moderation, enforcing our Terms of Service, and maintaining the integrity and security of the Service.

Third-party service providers

We share data with the following third-party service providers who process data on our behalf:

These providers process data only as necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

We never sell personal data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes.

Law enforcement

We will disclose personal information to law enforcement agencies, government authorities, or other third parties only when required by valid legal process (such as a subpoena, court order, or search warrant), or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to prevent illegal activity.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform servers located in the United States. We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

Important: Chat messages and other content are NOT end-to-end encrypted. Church administrators and WorshipWire platform administrators may access content as needed to operate the Service, enforce our Terms, and comply with applicable law. Do not use the Service for communications that you expect to be private from your church leadership or the platform operator.

5. Your Rights and Choices

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account on WorshipWire. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Our childcare check-in system allows parents and guardians to enter information about their children, including names, dates of birth, allergies, medical notes, and emergency contacts. This information is:

Our practices are designed to comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will promptly delete that information.

Minor users (under 18): California “Eraser Law”

If you are a California resident under 18, you have the right to request removal of content you have posted on the Service (California Business and Professions Code § 22581). To exercise this right, you can edit or delete the post yourself from within the app, or contact us at info@worshipwire.io. Removal does not guarantee complete or comprehensive removal of content (for example, copies retained by other users, screenshots, or third-party caches outside our control).

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). The rights below apply to personal information we have collected about you in the 12 months preceding your request.

Right to know

You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you, including both the categories of personal information and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected. The categories of personal information we may collect include:

Right to delete

You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law (such as data needed for legal compliance or to complete a transaction you requested).

Right to opt out of sale

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not sell or share personal information in these ways, there is no need to opt out.

Right to non-discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA / CPRA rights. You will not receive different pricing, service levels, or quality based on exercising your privacy rights.

Right to correct

You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

Right to limit use of sensitive personal information

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted under the CPRA. The categories of sensitive personal information we collect are: (a) information about your religious affiliation and participation, because WorshipWire is a church and community platform, the fact that you have joined a particular Church and your activity within it may, by its nature, reveal your religious beliefs; (b) precise geolocation, used only in the foreground at the moment you ask to find nearby churches and not stored on our servers; and (c) for child check-in only, parent-provided medical notes such as allergies and care instructions. We use these categories solely to provide the Service to you and the Churches you join, and we do not use them for advertising, profiling, or to infer characteristics for any purpose outside the Service. We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license or other government ID numbers, financial account credentials, account passwords (Firebase Authentication manages these directly), genetic data, biometric identifiers, or the contents of mail, email, or text messages outside of the in-app features you knowingly use. You can stop providing religious-affiliation information by leaving any Church and, if you wish, deleting your account.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@worshipwire.io. We will verify your identity before processing your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

8. Cookie Policy

We use cookies and local storage technologies in the following ways:

On the web version of the Service, we display a cookie consent banner where required by applicable law. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

9. Data Retention

10. International Users

The Service is hosted and operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your country. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the latest revision at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we may notify you within the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
